Magnet Overhead Crane
Magnet Overhead Crane is a crane system that uses magnets to lift and move loads. The magnet is mounted on the crane hoist and can be opened and closed to extract or release the load as required. These cranes typically operate on an overhead track system and can move loads horizontally and vertically.

Pictures & Components

Double Beam (Girder): these are horizontal beams that extend along the length of the crane and provide support for the lifting mechanism. They are usually made of steel and are designed to carry heavy loads.

End beam: End beam are mounted on the double girders and contain the wheels on which the crane moves along the runway. They usually contain the motor and drive mechanism that drives the Magnet Overhead Crane.
Hoist: The hoist is a heavy machinery starter. When the equipment is in the rack, there are losses and the load is reduced. In iron bridge traction machines with magnets, the main gate can be set, and the iron material is included in the magnet attachment.

Trolley: A trolley is a mechanism that moves horizontally along the length of a double girder. It carries the crane and allows it to precisely position the load.

Magnet: A component used to lift magnetic materials using a crane. It is usually connected to the crane's hook and powered by the electrical system. The magnetic field generated by the magnet attachment attracts ferrous materials, allowing them to be lifted and transported.

Control system: An interface for crane operators to control crane movement and operation. It usually consists of a control panel or pendant with buttons or levers to control the movement of the crane, and switches or buttons to enable or disable the magnet attachment.

Main Technical Data

Advantages

Efficient handling of ferrous materials: Magnetic bridge cranes are specially designed for handling ferrous materials such as steel plates, pipes and scrap metal. The magnetic attachment generates a strong magnetic field and holds the material firmly, allowing efficient lifting and transport without additional slings or attachments.
Increased Productivity: Using a magnetic bridge crane significantly increases productivity by eliminating the need to manually attach and detach hooks and other equipment. Operators can lift, move and release material quickly and easily while minimising downtime, resulting in shorter delivery times and increased throughput.
Improved safety: Magnetic bridge cranes improve safety by clamping materials tightly, reducing the risk of accidents such as falling loads and slips. A strong magnetic connection ensures that materials remain stable and secure during lifting and transport, minimising the risk of worker injury and property damage.
Versatility: Although electromagnetic overhead cranes are specifically designed to handle ferrous materials, they can often be equipped with additional lifting attachments to handle non-ferrous materials and other specialised loads. This versatility can be used in a wide range of industries, from steel manufacturing and construction to recycling and warehousing.
Cost Savings: Magnetic overhead cranes help reduce operating costs by streamlining material handling processes and increasing efficiency. These cranes increase productivity and safety, reduce labour costs, decrease downtime and material handling errors, and ultimately save companies money.
Space optimisation: Magnet Overhead Cranes, including magnetic bridge cranes, utilise vertical space within a facility, freeing up valuable floor space for other operations or storage. This vertical lifting capability allows for efficient material handling in space-constrained facilities, thus maximising available workspace and storage capacity.
Environmental benefits: Magnet Overhead Cranes contribute to environmental sustainability by reducing the need for manual labour and minimising material waste and damage. Efficient handling of materials with minimal human intervention reduces energy consumption, emissions and waste generation, supporting environmentally friendly manufacturing and operations.

Application

Steel manufacturing: magnet overhead cranes are widely used in steel mills and foundries to move raw materials such as steel plates, billets and coils. Materials are efficiently transferred between the various processing stages such as cutting, rolling and machining.
Metal Scrap Yard: Scrap metal recycling facilities utilise magnet overhead cranes to process and separate scrap ferrous metals such as steel girders, car bodies, and machine parts. Powerful magnetic attachments efficiently load waste onto trucks and crushers.
Automotive industry: Electromagnetic overhead cranes are used in automotive manufacturing plants to transport steel parts such as car bodies, chassis and engine blocks. It facilitates the movement of materials along assembly lines and between different production stations.
Shipbuilding and Offshore: Shipyards rely on magnet overhead cranes to lift and position heavy steel plates, girders and sections during the construction of ships and offshore structures. These cranes help streamline assembly processes and increase workflow efficiency.
Construction sites: Electromagnetic overhead cranes are used in construction projects involving the erection of steel structures, such as buildings, bridges and industrial facilities. They help lift and position steel beams, columns and other structural elements, thereby speeding up construction and reducing the need for manual labour.
Warehouses and Distribution Centres: Magnet overhead cranes are used in warehouses and distribution centres to move large quantities of stored steel coils, pipes and other materials. They assist in loading and unloading materials onto trucks, railcars and storage racks, helping to optimise warehouse operations.
Mining and quarrying: Electromagnetic overhead cranes are used in the mining and quarrying industry to move ores, minerals and other heavy materials. They support the extraction, transport and processing of mining materials, increasing productivity and safety in harsh working environments.
