LDC 5t Low Headroom Electric Single Girder Overhead Crane
An LDC 5t Low Headroom Electric Single Girder Overhead Crane is an upgraded, space-optimizing material handling crane engineered for modern manufacturing workshops, mold injection bays, automotive assembly plants, and steel warehouses with restricted vertical roof clearance. Unlike conventional LD single-girder cranes that suspend the hoist beneath an I-beam, the LDC series features a rigid welded square box girder paired with a side-mounted low-headroom electric hoist.

By positioning the hoisting drum and motor mechanism alongside the main girder web rather than directly underneath it, the LDC 5t crane elevates the upper hook limit position significantly-requiring only 515 mm to 725 mm from the bottom flange of the girder to the hook center. This adds 300 mm to 500 mm of extra usable vertical lifting height inside your existing building, saving substantial civil construction costs when building new factories or retrofitting low-ceiling workshops.
Designed and manufactured in compliance with the latest JB/T 1306-2024 national standard, this crane operates at an upgraded ISO M5 (Class A5) medium-heavy working duty. Equipped with dual-speed hoisting (5 / 0.83 m/min) and stepless variable-frequency (VFD) travel drives (2~20 m/min for both trolley and bridge), it delivers anti-sway precision positioning and whisper-quiet operation.

Pictures & Components (De-duplicated & Professionally Rewritten)

1. Whole set crane
The LDC 5t low headroom overhead crane integrates a welded box-section main girder, two torsion-free box end carriages, a side-cantilevered low-headroom electric hoist, a C-track festoon cable system, and a VFD electrical control cabinet. Requiring just 674 mm to 1,180 mm of vertical clearance above the runway rail, it maximizes hook lifting height while maintaining a compact deadweight (2,305 kg for the 10.5m span unit).
2. Main girder
Eliminating the traditional rolled I-beam, the LDC main girder adopts a computer-optimized welded rectangular box section fabricated from Q235B/Q355B structural steel plates. The wide lower flange (340 mm width for 10.5m span; 530 mm width for 34m span) serves directly as the running track for the low-headroom hoist trolley. Automated submerged-arc welding and internal stiffening diaphragms prevent torsional twisting, even across ultra-wide 34-meter spans.
3. Low-Headroom Lifting System
The lifting unit is a specialized low-headroom wire rope electric hoist. Mounted in a side-offset configuration with an adjustable counterweight assembly on the opposite side of the lower flange, it raises the hook block tucked closely beneath the main girder (515 mm hook-to-girder clearance on standard spans). It features 5 / 0.83 m/min dual-speed hoisting: 5 m/min for rapid production cycles, and 0.83 m/min micro-speed for delicate die alignment and machine tool loading.
4. End Carriages
Fabricated from heavy-duty rectangular steel tubes with CNC-bored wheel bearing seats, the end carriages (wheelbase 2,000 mm on 10.5m span; 4,000 mm on 34m span) provide exceptional stability and anti-skewing rigidity.
Connected to the main box girder via high-strength friction bolts and reamed shear sleeves, allowing quick knockdown for standard container shipping.
Fitted with 35 mm stroke energy-absorbing polyurethane buffers at all four corners to cushion runway end-stop impacts.
5. Crane traveling mechanism
Longitudinal bridge travel is powered by twin VFD variable-frequency three-in-one gearmotors. Operating at a stepless speed range of 2~20 m/min, the inverter-driven soft start and soft stop eliminate load swinging and mechanical shock, keeping maximum wheel pressure down to just 30.5 kN (10.5m span on P24 rail) or 53 kN (34m span on P38 rail).
6. Trolley traversing mechanism
The low-headroom hoist trolley rides smoothly along the wide flat bottom flange of the box girder (340 mm / 530 mm track width).
Driven by a variable-frequency motor at 2~20 m/min stepless traversing speed, it includes 30 mm stroke trolley buffers and side guide rollers to prevent flange climbing.
Tight hook approach limits (1,045 mm left / 1,065 mm right at 9m–10m height) maximize lateral floor coverage near workshop walls.
7. Crane wheel
Double-flanged forged alloy steel wheels (45# steel / 42CrMo) are precision-machined and heat-treated to HB 300–380 on the tread surface to prevent rail gnawing on P24 or P38 runway rails.
Mounted on maintenance-free sealed spherical roller bearings for lifetime smooth rolling under M5 duty cycles.
8. Crane hook
Equipped with a high-tensile DG20 forged single hook block engineered with a low-profile twin-sheave arrangement that minimizes vertical dead space. A 360-degree thrust bearing and spring-loaded safety latch come standard.
9. Motor & VFD Drive
All hoisting and traveling mechanisms are rated for ISO M5 continuous industrial duty. The dual-speed hoist motor and VFD-controlled travel motors consume a remarkably low total power of just 7.92 kW to 8.14 kW, offering Class F insulation, IP54/IP55 dust-proof protection, and built-in electromagnetic fail-safe brakes.
10. Trolley & Crane Power Supply System
Trolley power supply (Item 5 & 8): Galvanized C-track festoon system with flat flexible rubber cables and a dedicated hoist collector bracket (葫芦导电架) for tangle-free cross travel.
Crane power supply (Item 1/2): Heavy-duty crane current collector bracket (大车导电架) compatible with seamless safety conductor busbars.
11. Safety Devices
Electronic overload limiter: Prevents lifting beyond 105% of the 5-ton rated load.
Dual-stage hoisting limit switch: Cuts off upward and downward hoisting at preset hook travel extremes.
Cross & long travel photo-sensor / lever limit switches: Halts travel smoothly before buffer contact.
VFD electrical protection: Over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, phase-sequence, and overheat protection housed inside an IP54 weather-sealed electrical control box (电器箱).
12. Control Mode
Dual Control (LDC5t-10.5m standard): Ergonomic suspended pendant station + industrial wireless radio remote control.
Full Wireless Remote Control (LDC5t-34m wide-span standard): Allows the operator to walk freely across the 34-meter bay without being tethered to the bridge.

Advantages
Maximized Vertical Lifting Height: The side-mounted low-headroom hoist reduces hook-to-girder dead space to just 515 mm, providing up to 500 mm more lifting height than standard LD single-girder cranes inside the same building.
Upgraded M5 (A5) Duty Class: Unlike ordinary A3/A4 single-girder cranes, all hoisting and traveling mechanisms on this LDC 5t model are rated for ISO M5, supporting intensive multi-shift factory production.
Standard VFD Anti-Sway Travel & Dual-Speed Hoist: Stepless 2~20 m/min frequency-controlled travel and 5 / 0.83 m/min dual-speed hoisting eliminate load pendulum swing and enable millimeter-accurate mold and machine assembly.
Superior Box-Girder Rigidity: Full welded square box girder construction with a 340 mm to 530 mm wide lower flange track eliminates the flange wear and high-frequency vibration common on rolled I-beam girders.
