Span and cantilever length
The span of a gantry crane is an important factor affecting the quality of the crane itself. When selecting, the span should be minimized as long as the equipment usage conditions and span series standards are met.
The principle of determining the wheelbase is to meet the stability requirements of the gantry along the crane track direction (b) The external dimensions of the cargo must be able to pass smoothly through the support leg plane steel frame (c) Pay attention to making the wheelbase B and span S in a certain proportional relationship, generally taking wheelbase B = (1/4-1/6) S.
Determination of the spacing size of gantry cranes During operation, a certain space size should be left between the external dimensions of the gantry crane and the cargo and transport vehicle passages in the yard to facilitate loading and unloading operations. Generally, when transport vehicles are loading and unloading within the span, they should maintain a spacing of more than 0.7m from the gantry legs. When the hoist is not working, it should be more than 0.5m away from the transport vehicle, and when the cargo passes the gantry legs, it should be more than 0.5m away.
Selection of electrical equipment for gantry cranes
It should comply with the relevant provisions of General Gantry Cranes>GB/T14406-1993.
Selection of single-beam and double-beam gantry cranes In general, if the lifting capacity is less than 50t, the span is within 35m, and there are no special requirements for use, a single-beam gantry crane should be selected. If a large gantry width, high working speed, or frequent lifting of heavy and long pieces are required, a double-beam gantry crane should be selected.
