We recently completed the custom engineering and delivery of a 25-ton Trackless Battery Powered Transfer Cart for a heavy mining machinery maintenance center in Perth, Australia. Designed for cross-bay transport of oversized excavator components and industrial diesel engines, this steerable motorized transfer trolley eliminates the need for fixed floor rails and enables seamless indoor-to-outdoor material transfer. The project was delivered under DAP terms with a production lead time of 22 working days.
The BWP series Trackless Transfer Cart features a rated load capacity of 25 tons and a heavy-duty platform measuring 4500mm × 2200mm × 600mm. Constructed from welded Q355B box beams with a safety factor of 1.5, the deck is reinforced to handle concentrated point loads without structural deformation. Powered by a high-capacity 48V maintenance-free lithium-ion battery pack, the cart can operate continuously for up to 6 hours under full load and comes with an intelligent high-frequency charger equipped with an Australian-standard plug.
To achieve maximum maneuverability in crowded maintenance bays, the transfer cart is equipped with a dual-drive hydraulic steering system and heavy-duty solid polyurethane-coated wheels. The cart can perform 360-degree in-situ rotation, crab movement, and small-radius turning on standard epoxy or concrete workshop floors without damaging the ground surface. Travel speed is steplessly adjustable from 0 to 20 m/min via wireless remote control, ensuring smooth starting and stopping even when carrying unstable heavy assemblies.

Because mining maintenance facilities in Australia enforce stringent workplace safety standards (AS/NZS regulations), we integrated a comprehensive multi-layer safety package. Both ends of the cart are fitted with laser area scanners that automatically slow down the vehicle when an obstacle is detected within 2 meters and trigger an immediate emergency stop within 0.5 meters. Additional safety features include emergency stop mushrooms on all four corners, an anti-slip checkered steel deck with removable lashing rings, audible warning horns, and LED battery level indicators.
Before leaving our factory, the transfer cart completed a 30-ton static load test and a 4-hour continuous steering and running test. Shipped cleanly inside a 40-foot flat rack/container setup with zero on-site assembly required, the customer was able to unload the transfer cart with their overhead crane and put it directly into daily operation upon arrival.
Whether paired with overhead cranes or operating independently across multiple factory bays, our customized transfer carts offer a safe, flexible, and high-efficiency ground transport solution for heavy manufacturing and maintenance industries worldwide.
