Functions of the main components of overhead crane
This section describes the functions of the main components of a crane: the lifting yoke and its winding mechanism. Wire rope is a crucial component of a crane, used in the hoisting mechanism, luffing mechanism, traction mechanism, and sometimes in the rotating mechanism. Wire rope is also used for tying items to the crane. Wire rope is also used as the mast tensioning rope for mast cranes and as the support rope for cable cranes and aerial ropeways.
Lifting Device Safety Inspection: A crane connects the hoisted object to the lifting mechanism through a lifting device, enabling loading, unloading, lifting, and installation of these objects. There are many types of lifting devices, including hooks, lifting rings, tie-downs, clamps, claws, bolsters, electromagnetic suction cups, vacuum suction cups, grabs, and container spreaders.
Braking Device: A crane is an intermittent mechanism characterized by frequent starting and braking. Therefore, the brake serves as both a working device and a safety device. The brake has three functions: supporting, stopping, and lowering the load.
