A crane is a device used to lift and move heavy objects, and is widely used in construction, manufacturing, transportation and other fields. The commonly used types of cranes are mainly the following:
1. Tower crane
Features: Usually used in high-rise building construction, with a fixed base and a rotating boom. The boom of the tower crane can be raised and lowered and rotated to lift and move objects to the desired location.
Application: large projects such as high-rise buildings and bridges.
2. Crawler crane
Features: Using a crawler walking system, it has strong off-road capabilities. The crawler provides a stable foundation, allowing it to operate on uneven ground.
Application: construction sites, earthworks, etc., suitable for the handling of larger and heavier equipment.
3. Tire crane
Features: Installed on a tire chassis, it has strong flexibility and is suitable for short-distance handling tasks. It can move quickly on relatively flat ground.
Application: short-distance construction handling, ports, warehouses and other environments.
4. Truck crane
Features: The crane equipment is installed on a truck chassis, has road driving capabilities, good mobility, and can be deployed quickly.
Application: small and medium-sized construction projects, rescue missions, temporary construction tasks, etc.
5. Gantry crane
Features: There are two supporting legs straddling the track, which can move in the horizontal plane, and the hoist moves along the beam to achieve a wide range of lifting and handling.
Application: Ports, docks, yards, etc., for loading and unloading containers and heavy goods.
6. Bridge crane
Features: Similar to gantry cranes, but the supporting structure is generally located inside the building. The lifting equipment runs along the bridge track and is suitable for use in factories or warehouses.
Application: factories, workshops, warehouses, etc., for the handling of heavy equipment.
7. Floating crane
Features: Cranes installed on ships or floating platforms for water operations.
Application: Ports, water construction, salvage tasks, etc.
8. Electric hoist
Features: Lifting equipment driven by electricity, usually installed on tracks or suspended on fixed frames, mainly used for lighter lifting tasks.
Application: Indoor environments such as workshops and warehouses.
9. Jib crane
Features: With a retractable jib, the height and distance of the sling can be flexibly adjusted. It is often used for operations in small spaces or special occasions.
Application: Indoor installation, small construction sites, etc.
Different types of cranes are suitable for different working environments and tasks. When choosing, it is necessary to consider the actual needs and site conditions comprehensively.
