In our contacts with customers, we noticed that sometimes customers have special requirements for steel materials for cranes. Here we briefly introduce the two types of steel used in our cranes.
Q235 and Q355, these are steel materials widely used to manufacture our cranes.
The difference between the two materials.
1. Yield strength.
Yield strength of Q235: 235MPa
Yield strength of Q355: 355MPa
2. Different alloy content
Q235: Carbon structural steel
Q355: Low alloy structural steel
Q235--metal structural parts, carburized or cyanide parts with low core strength requirements, tie rods, connecting rods, hooks, couplings, bolts and nuts, sleeves, shafts and welded parts.
Q345--Good comprehensive mechanical properties, good low temperature performance, good plasticity and weldability, as a metal structural part that bears dynamic loads in medium and low pressure containers, oil tanks, vehicles, cranes, mining machinery, power stations, bridges and other structures, mechanical parts, building structures, etc., hot rolled or normalized for use, can be used for various structures in cold areas below -40℃.
Customers can choose the steel material they want according to their work needs.
If the crane is working in a low temperature area, or the working grade of the crane is very high (such as A6 or A7, A8 in ISO standard), or the structure of the crane is rigidly controlled, then Q355 steel plate will be the best choice for customers.
If customers have no special requirements, then they can choose Q235 steel plate, which is also very good in application, and its cost is cheaper than Q355.
