32 Ton Double Girder Gantry Crane with Rotating Spreader Exported for Heavy Structural Fabrication

We recently completed the custom engineering, fabrication, and on-site commissioning of a 32-ton MG Double Girder Gantry Crane for an overseas heavy structural steel manufacturer. Over a five-month technical consultation period, our engineering team worked closely with the client to optimize and upgrade their original 20-ton concept into a high-performance 32-ton A6 heavy-duty gantry system tailored to their expanding production requirements.

At the initial inquiry stage, the customer requested a 20-ton upper-rotating gantry crane equipped with standard domestic components. However, after analyzing their updated workpiece dimensions and high-frequency turning operations, our technical team proposed a comprehensive design evolution. The rated lifting capacity was increased to 32 tons, featuring a 32-meter main span with double cantilevers of 8.5 meters on each side (32m + 8.5m + 8.5m) and a lifting height of 10.5 meters. Furthermore, the rotation mechanism was modified from upper trolley rotation to a lower-rotating motorized hook block, which significantly reduced the trolley gauge, lowered the overall deadweight of the main girders, and improved stability during load turning.

To guarantee maximum uptime under continuous A6 duty cycles, the core drive and electrical configurations were upgraded to world-renowned European brands. Both the hoisting and traveling mechanisms utilize heavy-duty gearmotors and frequency inverters, operating on a 380V, 50Hz, 3-Phase power supply. Dual control modes were provided: a panoramic, air-conditioned operator cabin mounted beneath the support leg for full yard visibility, and an industrial wireless remote control for ground-level rigging coordination.

Given the large 49-meter total girder length, the box girders and A-frame outriggers were manufactured in modular sections with precision-machined flanged connection plates and high-strength 10.9-grade friction grip bolts. This segmented design allowed the entire crane structure to be shipped efficiently in standard 40HQ containers without incurring expensive break-bulk vessel charges.

Following the 90-day manufacturing phase and ocean delivery, we dispatched two experienced service engineers to the customer's site to supervise mechanical erection, rail alignment, and load commissioning. Expressing high satisfaction with both the structural welding quality and the responsive technical guidance, the client has already initiated discussions for two additional 70-ton gantry crane orders for their phase-two yard expansion.
